Hazel Morton

March 19, 1924 — September 15, 2010

Doris Hazel Morton, 86 of Port Orchard, WA and Amarillo, TX for 35 years died after complications from a heart attack on September 15, 2010. She was born in Littlefield, TX to William Henry and Clara LaVada (Gray) Flippin, March 19, 1924 along with her twin brother Harold. On May 31, 1941 she married Newton Turner Morton in Snyder, TX. They were married 65 years before he died in March 2007. Hazel was a Christian wife and mother for all of those 65 years, spending her life as a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters and one grandson.  Survivors include brothers Harold (her twin) of AK, Bob and gene Flippin both of TX; daughters Sherline Watson (HT) of AL, Connie Switzer (Ray) of Port Orchard and Penny Copeland of OK; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside service and burial will be with her husband at Tahoma national Cemetery September 24th at 11:15 am. Memorial service will be at Port Orchard Church of Christ, September 25th at 3:30 pm.
