A.C. Benson

A.C. "Bud" Benson, 75, died at his home in Port Orchard, Washington. He was born in Longview, Washington on April 18, 1930 to Opal (Yenne) & Walter Benson. Bud graduated from Port Angeles High School in Port Angeles, Washington in 1949. He married Darlene Norma Seward in 1950 and Kathryn A. Hall in 1958. Bud worked on the Kitsap Peninsula as an Insurance Agent with Metropolitan LIfe Insurance for 19 1/2 years, retiring in 1990. He also worked as a Custodian with South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard from 1985 to 1995. Bud traveled to Europe, China and all over the United States. He loved camping, gardening, golfing, and photography. He was a life member of Kiwanis, Elks Club, Thousand Trails, and NACCO West. Surviving are sons Chris (Sandy) Benson of Des Moines, Washington and Laird (Cindy) Benson of Port Angeles, Washington; daughters Rebecca (Tom) Riepe of Port Angeles, Desiree' (Dan) Smith of Port Orchard, and Peggy Cordz of Kent, Washington; sister Cheryl (Charlie) Johnson of Clarkston, Washington; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 2:00pm at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
