Colin Carson McInnes, 73, passed away January 18th 2022. We are all heartbroken and will miss him terribly but comforted knowing he is at peace and his body is healed. He was born July 9, 1948 in Kalispell Montana to Herschal and Eleanor McInnes and spent his first 5 years there until moving with his family to Bremerton. He spent many summers in Montana on the ranch with family. He loved all his Montana Brothers.
He attended Bremerton schools graduating from East High in 1966 and went on to continue his education at Southern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the Radiological Control and Crane Dept. and other various jobs with the government and retired with over 30 years. He went on to work at South Kitsap Schools, substitute teaching and Security Officer, among other various jobs. He spent several summers volunteering in Washington DC for the Presidential Classroom.
He met and married the love of his life and best friend Kathy. They were planning their 25th Anniversary with a cruise to Alaska which was the only state he hadn't visited. They had traveled and taken many cruises to the Caribbean, Europe, and Panama Canal. They loved road trips and planning many golf trips with great friends.
He loved to dance, sing and “knew all the words to all the songs”. He sang in the choir at his church over the years and was in a few plays: “Annie” as President Roosevelt.
Colin was an amazing golfer and had 6 hole in ones and an Albetraze at Desert Canyon on his Birthday. He always told you he was the “World’s Greatest Putter”. He had a passion for sports, huge Huskey, Seahawks, and Mariners Fan. He played slow pitch and had many lifelong friends and had coached a women’s softball team.
He had a bigger than life personality and an infectious laugh and smile that would fill a room!
He loved to talk politics and sports about all the latest news. Colin loved his family and to talk about his grandsons and how proud he was of them. He enjoyed his two little grandchildren and spending time with them.
