Elsie Sands

Elsie L. Sands, 78, of Port Orchard died Wednesday at Harborview MedicalCenter in Seattle. She was born to Arthur O. and Ethel (Oliver) Johnson in White Water, Ohio. After marrying Robert Sands in 1963, she became a devoted homemaker who enjoyed entertaining family and friends, cooking, games, and her animals. Her husband preceded her in death in 1997. Surviving are her three sons, Lonnie Nelson (Deloris) of Alaska, Bill Nelson (Lottie) also of Alaska, and John Nelson (Sylvia) of Shelton; her three daughters, Carol Edwards (Michael) of Orting, Marie Waldron (Bruce) of Port Orchard, and Pam Nelson of Shelton; her 21 grandchildren; her 19 great grand-children; and her friends, Jim, Edna, Bob, Bev, Glenda, Dianne, Harry, and Donut. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A memorial Mass will be held at noon Wednesday at St. gabriel Church in Port Orchard with interment 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park in Bellevue.
