After working at Lewis Funeral Home, Puget Sound Energy and Boeing, he started in the apprenticeship program in 1959 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. After 32 years he retired in March 1991 as a funds administrator for aircraft carriers. Jerry enjoyed life, family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, golfing and especially enjoyed cooking. Holiday dinners were always special. He and Sharon enjoyed traveling to Guatemala (Tikal), Belize, Cancun, Spain, Portugal, and Baja Mexico as well as driving their motorhome around the United States, Canada, and Alaska. Jerry was the “go to guy” for help when anyone called. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. To his wife Sharon (Linenko) of 35 years, he was the light of her life as well as her provider, protector, and best friend. He will be missed so much by his son Michael (Kimberly) Cain of Bremerton, daughter Nancy (Don) Bear of Arizona, grandchildren Brian (Jenn) Cain of Florida, Daniel (Danielle) Cain of California, Elizabeth Cain of Bremerton and great granddaughters Eden, Madison and Sophie Cain. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte Booher of Pasco, WA, nieces Janet (Bob) Gore, Marie (Jim) Boles, Sue Hart of the Tri Cities area and nephew Bill Booher of Salem, OR, and mother-in-law Stella Linenko of Port Orchard and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Patrick. A Celebration of Life will be held at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Thursday, July 22 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center, 570 Lebo Blvd, Bremerton, WA 98310, or a charity of your choice.
