, What can you say about this child of God?
JoAnn Marie Bliss was born September 29, 1936 in West Mahoney, Pa to Leo and Marion Carroll. She spent her life looking forward and moving steadfast.
In the seventies, her nephew said that he used to watch her cook with a wine glass in her hand, a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, while wearing a mini skirt.
JoAnn has been a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and very importantly to her was her career in nursing, always loving her emergency room years, up until retiring from Group Health in her 70's.
JoAnn would do anything for her family or friends. In her passing, the stories have unfolded that were never shared before. Stories of compassion, and generosity. These stories she took to her grave-so we will make mention of the glory but not the specifics.
JoAnn loved to dance just like her mother, who was a ballroom dancer in her twenties.. She was seen as a dancer, doing the jitterbug, on American Bandstand, at least once. She traveled a lot before her health slowed her down. She spent a month, each year on a float plane going through remote regions of Alaska and fishing off the pontoons; took trips to Spain to watch the running of the bulls. Later, she mostly made trips to the casino, either daytrips with her good friend Pat, or her three day stays in Las Vegas with her daughter-in-law Gabriele. Taking trips to Arizona to spend time with her children, and grandchildren brought her great joy-she loved Christmas.
JoAnn enjoyed her Mariners, as loyally as she did her Seahawks the way only a big"12" can relate too. She never missed a game...or an episode of General Hospital!
She sent Christmas cards, and birthday cards to all of her relations without fail. She made sure you got your flu shot!!!
This Woman lived...may we all live as well.
