Lyda Mary Woodward, 72, died peacefully at her home in Port Orchard on December 19, 2012. She was born June 3, 1940 in Syracuse, KS to R.D. & Ethel (Seward) Showers. She graduated from Holly High School in Holly, CO in 1958 and married Walter A. Woodward. Lyda was a homemaker and also was involved in income tax preparation. She enjoyed sewing & crafts and was a member of the LDS Church on Mullinex Road in Port Orchard. Surviving are husband Walter; sons David (Donna) Woodward of Port Orchard, Sam Woodward of Sequim, Daniel Woodward of Port Orchard; daughter Tammie Woodward of Bremerton; sister Emogene Walkinshaw of Syracuse, KS; grandchildren Sean (Krissy) Woodward of Seattle, Erin Woodward of Charleston, SC, and Kayla Woodward of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by sisters Pauline Walkinshaw, Twila Thon, Alice Albers & Viola Jewel. Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Mullenix in Port Orchard. Interment will be at the Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colorado on December 31, 2012 following a graveside service at 11:00 AM. A Memorial webpage can be accessed at
