Lynae Goodwin was born in Alameda, California in 1974. She was the second daughter to Theresa and Arlond Goodwin. She was raised in Port Orchard, Washington and attended East Port Orchard Elementary, Marcus Whitman Middle School and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1992.
She married Christopher Jackson on August 11th, 1996. They divorced in 2008, but always respected and admired each other while co-parenting their two children, Kyra and Noah.
Lynae worked 20 years at Viking Mortgage. She obtained her real estate license and managed the establishment for many years. Lynae can be described as one of the hardest workers anyone has ever met. She continued with her amazing bookkeeping and accounting, working for different quality HVAC companies. Even in times of despair or exhaustion, she worked and was selfless in her actions. She was the smiling face every office deserves.
One of her greatest accomplishments was being a mom. She had so much pride in her children. She was considered so many people’s momma, she provided that motherly support to her second children, her nephews Dalton and Skyler and her niece Kenadee. If someone needed advice, love, friendship, guidance, Lynae was there for all of it. Her unconditional love earned her the title “mom” from so many.
Some of Lynae’s fondest memories include every trip to the water which she loved the most, spending time with her friends and family, Easter at Grandma Helen’s, and anything that included karaoke or getting to sing. She loved to spend time in nature, and looked forward to a yearly family trip to Mardon. Lynae loved coloring, singing, the ocean, anything sparkly and teal, home designing games, her kitties Summer and Leo. She especially loved to snack on cheese and salsa.
Lynae’s incredible stubborn personality made her fight for months, but chose to rest on August 20th. She is survived by her father Arlond Goodwin, children Kyra and Noah Jackson, nephews Dalton and Skyler, niece Kenadee Simpson, brothers Joshua Sewell and Derek Rae, grandfather Sonny Bracamontes, along with amazing aunts, uncles, cousins and so many great friends.
Lynae was preceded in death by both her sisters Lisa and Leann, her mom, Theresa, her step-mom Sharon, her uncle Elton, grandma Helen Bracamontes and grandparents Fern and Tony Winter.
