Michael Joseph Orr, age 66, of Port Orchard, WA passed away on Thursday (September 28, 2017) at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Jacqui Curtiss.
Mike was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on September 15, 1951 and grew up in Coeur d’Alene. He was the son of Robert and Alice Orr. After traveling around the country and the world, Mike served with honor and pride for over 7 years in the U.S. Navy. He settled in Kitsap County in 2008, and worked for the Department of Defense for the last several years. Besides his amazing wife, Jacqui, Mike leaves his son, Jerry and daughter-in-law Jenny Orr, granddaughters Sophie and Seanna; his daughter Jennie and son-in-law Ruben Jimenez, grandsons Ben, Felipe, Isaiah and Alex, his sister Cyndi Belter and brother Pat Orr as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Mike was an incredible person and loved spending time with his beautiful wife, friends, and family while going on great adventures traveling and riding his big Harley on the back country roads. He also had a passion for classic cars, his big red truck, WarBorn – his veterans bike club, his faithful dog Charlie and anything that was Celtic in origin.
The time we had with Mike was a gift. He taught us what strength was with a heart of a lion and the gentleness of a papa bear. He is missed beyond words.
The celebration of his wonderful life will be 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, October 8, 2017 at First Lutheran Church located at 2483 Mitchell Rd. SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
