Roland Lincoln

Roland M. Lincoln, 87, of Belfair died Friday at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard. He was born in his grandmother's home in Marion, Minnesota to Clifford and Lulu Belle (McCaleb) Lincoln. Mr. Lincoln was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Lillian (Prigioni), and brothers Seth of Belfair and Samuel of Concord, California. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1941 to December 1945 as a private with the 215th Coast Artillery Battalion 6 of the 101st Antiaircraft Division based in San Francisco. From 1945 until 1971, he worked as a waiter, first at the family-owned Bay City Grill, then Bimbo's 365 Club and the famous A. Sabella's Restaurant on the San Francisco waterfront. In the early '90s, he purchased a home in Belfair while also living in California. He made frequent trips to his Minnesota home as well. Mr. Lincoln was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching his wife play tennis and while in the Bay Area would spend hours enjoying ocean views. He is survived by nieces Lilly Nance of Yakima, Lori Belle Landberg of Concord, California and Arlene Schauer of Belfair; nephew Earl Lincoln of Belfair; 15 grand-nieces and nephews and numerous great-grand-nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Belfair. Entombment will be at a later date at the Holy Cross Cemetery all Saints Mausoleum in Colma, California. Memorial donations can be made to the Northwest Kidney Foundation, Mason County Dialysis Center through the "Jim Cady Memorial Dialysis Fund": at Kay Bank, The American Heart Association or the May Clinic.
