Steven Baroga Sanchez, Jr. 51, a former resident of Port Orchard, died in Seattle of complications from diabetes. He graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1973 and received a Bachelors Degree from Seattle University in 1981. Mr. Sanchez worked primarily as a Youth Minster within the Roman Catholic Church throughout the Pacific Northwest and as a Journalist. He was an active member of the Roman Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed music and photography, was a practical joker and an avid Mariners fan. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his sons Steven 'Tony' Sanchez and Ethan Sanchez and daughter Bethany Sanchez all of Port Orchard; brother Stephan Sanchez of Seattle and very special family member auntie Candy V. Sanchez. He was predeceased by his parents and his auntie Asuncion Vergara Narte. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church on Sunday, July 15th at 3:00 with a reception immediately following at the Knights of Columbus hall across the street from the Church.
