William V. 'Uncle Bill' King, 84 a former resident of Port Orchard, died in Poulsbo on Friday, June 3, 2011 from complications of diabetes. He was born in Angora, NE on May 4, 1927 to John King and Mary Florence Dorothy Wyeth. He served the US Army for two years. He enjoyed watching game shows and dabbling in sketching and art and had an interest in firearms. Uncle Bill had a genuine interest in his nieces and nephews. Many family members benefited from his bargain hunting at Goodwill and were recipients of various phones, flashlights, and clothing. He married Dorothy Presnell in 1966 and later divorced. He worked in the building trades in the Puget Sound area doing construction work. He was preceded in death by sisters Barbara Clark, Florence Miller, Kathryn Plummer, Dorothy Missman and brothers Wyeth and Thomas. He is survived by sisters Marianna Simms of Mt. Vernon, WA, and Pat Harms of Port Orchard, WA and by numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside ceremony will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, Port Orchard on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm with a reception following at the American Legion Hall on Kendall in PO.
