Zenaida (Zeny) Delarosa, a longtime resident of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away unexpectedly but quietly on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born on November 13, 1938 in Laguna, Philippines, Zeny is the daughter of the late Damaso and Candida (Lavadia) Papa, and the sister of the late Luzviminda Andres. Shortly after graduating Araneta University, she immediately used her Animal Husbandry degree working at the nearby poultry farm.
In 1962 she married Juanito and soon the young couple started building their family. With five kids in tow and by request of Zenys’ parents, the family relocated to Port Orchard in 1978, where she’s lived ever since. Zeny unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life through the many highs and difficulties of their lives.
It was said Zeny was unselfish to a fault. Often neglecting the needs of herself for the needs and well-being of her many friends and family. Her mobility difficulties didn’t deter her from not having a social life. She often spent her days on the phone talking to her circle of friends.
She is survived by her children, Consuelo of Oakland, CA; Corazon of Seattle, WA; Juanito and his wife Dolor of Ferndale, WA; Joselito and his wife Barbara of Ogden, UT; Cecilia of Hazelwood, MO, and two grandchildren, Alejandro (Alex) and Alexandria (Lexie). She is also survived by Barbaras’ daughters Jessica Keim of Ogden, UT; Sara Butler of Dallas, TX; Rob and Rebecca Rayment of Olympia, WA; along with other grandchildren, friends, and relatives.
The viewing will be held at Rill’s Life Tribute Center (1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard) on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 starting at 9 a.m. A Memorial Mass will then be held at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church (1150 Mitchell Ave SE, Port Orchard) at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Burial Ceremony at Sunset Lane Cemetery (1004 Bethel Ave, Port Orchard) at 12:00 p.m.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
- Matthew 11:28-30, NIV
There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
