Aadrun Anderson

Aadrun Anderson died of a massive stroke at the age of 86 at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington.Aadrun was born to Paul and Ruth Solberg in Tacoma on December 6, 1915 to Paul and Ruth Solberg. After living in places such as Seattle, Washington, Singapore, Manila, Zambians and the Phillipine Islands, Aadrun B. Solberg met and married Donald G. Oass in 1936 in Oakland, California. The couple moved to Oregon where Eugene P. Oass was born on July 25, 1937. Donna A. Oass was born on October 26, 1941, and Susan I. Oass was born December 29, 1944. After returning to Oakland, Aadrun gave birth to Karen R. Sellar on December 9, 1951.Aadrun returned to her place of birth with her three children, and worked in Office Administrations and Sales for such companies as Rhodes Department Store and Prudential Life Insurance. This waas where she met and married her soul mate, Lloyd J. Anderson on April 7, 1956. The family resided on Waller Road in Tacoma.Together they had several family pets, to include cattle, Standard Poodles and Airdales. Her life with Lloyd was spent loving the finer pleasures of camping and fishing in the northwest, with a love for visiting Ocean Shores.As her children grew and spread their wings, her travels took her to places such as Omaha, Nebraska, Los Angeles, San Francisco, California, Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka, Alaska, Reno, Nevada and Vancouver, British Columbia.Along with her love of travel and meeting and making new friends along the way, her time in retirement was actively served as a volunteer for a number of organizations, such as the American Red Cross, and various Presidential campaigns. She loved gardening, cooking, bird watching, needle point, and reading.She is survived by her children; Gene Brent of Los Angeles; Donna A. Anderson of Auburn, Washington; Susan I. Vergason of Port Orchard; Karen R. Tamborski of Petaluma, California; ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald G. Oass and Lloyd J. Anderson.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association.Local arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
