Alan “Al” Cesar passed away at home on Wednesday, September 25th after a brief time under hospice care following a stroke. Many of you are aware that the past year and half has been a challenge for Alan after being diagnosed with Kidney Failure. We are so thankful that he is no longer in pain and passed away peacefully.
Alan was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 1st, 1950 to Edison and Betty Cesar. A self proclaimed “Army Brat” he spent time in several Army Bases across the United States, Japan and Germany. The family eventually settled in Kaneohe, Hawaii and Alan considered that to be his childhood home where he and his four brothers grew up. In his twenties, Alan moved to Washington State for job opportunities. He held various careers: Flight Attendant with Western Airlines, Mechanical Engineer at Boeing, worked at the FAA, TSA, and retired from the Port of Seattle as a “Bag Boss”. He loved the Airline Industry and enjoyed his various careers.
Alan married Janet Loomis on June 29th, 1985. The two came to Port Orchard in 2002 and have lived happily there ever since. Together they adopted their daughter Jenna, bringing her home from China in November of 2005. Alan loved being Jenna’s dad. He was so proud of her and would take every opportunity to boast of her accomplishments to anyone who would listen. LOL.
Besides his family, friends and pets (especially dogs), Alan loved fishing, boating, eating out, and specially creating music in his recording studio. He not only enjoyed recoding other musicians, he also created two albums of his own: Knights and Knights II. He would love for everyone to listen to his music. If you do not have a copy of the albums, please reach out to Janet or Jenna and a copy will be mailed to you. Local Port Orchard residents can pick up copies at Vinyl Injection Records in Town Square Mall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you go enjoy a cheeseburger and chocolate milkshake in memory of Alan. Or for you vegetarians, have a coffee and a doughnut! All of which were Alan's favorites. :)
A Celebration of Life to be scheduled at a later date.
