Albert D. Lynk, Port Orchard WA (82), son of Albert and Gladys (Blair) Lynk. Beloved husband of Patricia (Balmer) Lynk and loving dad to Kevin and Sharon Lynk, Leslee and Stephen Beck von Peccoz, Denise and Jon Hughes and 7 grandchildren: Ryan and Jacob Lynk; Jordan, Carter and Drew Beck von Peccoz; and Emily and Patrick Hughes.
Albert was born in 1935 in Vancouver, WA and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1953. He immediately began his chosen career as a papermaker, and continued working at what he loved for over 30 years at ever-increasing levels of responsibility. Highly regarded as an expert papermaker and a beloved manager, he chose to retire at age 60 as Assistant Mill Superintendent in Albany, OR.
Pat and Al relished adventure, and made numerous auto trips across the country visiting friends, family, and enjoying sights in 49 of the 50 states. They especially loved their vacation home in Sunriver OR, 30 years of Kauai vacations, and their excursions to Australia, New Zealand and Berlin.
Albert intuitively knew how things ran, and was a great "fixer” of most anything. He was a friend to everyone, loved people everywhere, and they loved him in return. He delighted in telling stories, and was a terrific listener as well, as he always had a curious mind and was interested in people and their lives.
Al and Pat were married for 61 joyful years. Please come help us celebrate Al's life at 1:00 p.m. on October 21, 2017 at Rock Creek Country Club, 5100 NW Neakahnie Avenue, Portland OR 97229.
