Albert "Bert" Lee Miller

January 19, 1941 — September 10, 2013

Albert (Bert) Lee Miller died on September 10, 2013 following a 19 year battle with cancer. He was born in Denver Colorado, January 19, 1941 to Robert and Dorothy (Speicher) Miller. He lived part of his childhood in Lodi California, and then moved to Bremerton Washington where he graduated from West High School in 1959. He married Patricia Mae Bard on December 17, 1960 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Bremerton. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Belfair; son Brock Miller of Issaquah, his wife Carol and their children Brennan, Blake, and Carly; son Bret Miller of Port Orchard, his wife Cathy and son Terry; daughter Bonnie Tufts of Poulsbo, her husband Paul and their children Hayden, Ethan and Madison; daughter Brooke Jangard of Fox Island, her husband Chad and their children Sierra and Sophie; and by a sister, Mary Sexton of Silverdale and her family.
Bert began his 50-year career in the Automobile Retail Industry in Bremerton at the age of 16 working as a lot boy, moving on to sales then finally into management. The various places he worked included Dunn Ford, D & W Automotive, Bennett Ford, Dick Vlist Motors, Haselwood Buick Pontiac, West Hills Honda, Today Chevrolet, and Shoreline Subaru. Through his career he met so many people and developed many lifelong friendships.
Bert was a Life Member of the Elks Club and recently received his 50-year pin. He and Pat spent time traveling together and enjoyed visiting the Bahamas, Australia, Hawaii, the Caribbean, cruised the Panama Canal, and saw much of the United States traveling in their RV. In more recent years they spent the winter months in Arizona with friends and the summer months at their home on Mason Lake with family. He also enjoyed weekly card games with his close personal buddies. He was a courageous man who enjoyed life thoroughly and will be missed by all.
A service celebrating his amazing life will be held on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on Pine Road in Bremerton. You can also visit his personal webpage at www.rill.com to share photos and memories.
