Alex Lundberg

April 25, 1926 — November 6, 2010

Alex Emma Lundberg was born in Minot ND on April 25, 1926.  She came to Kitsap County when she was three years old with her parents Lorne A. and Flora M. Hooper.  She attended South Kitsap High School with the class of 1944 and worked in the Supply Department at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II.  She met Richard Lundberg at Pearl Mauer’s dance hall and they married in 1947.  They were married for 63 years.   She was an avid school supporter, an East Port Orchard Elementary PTA vice president and was a recipient of the Golden Acorn award for service.  She attended all sports and musical events of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved dancing, her Seattle Mariners and going to the casino often.   She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Karen Goyette (husband David) of Gig Harbor and son Jerry Lundberg (wife Kathy) of Port Orchard; grandchildren Eric Baker, Beth Wahlbrink and Maureen Lundberg; great-grandchildren Jacqueline and Richard James (RJ) Wahlbrink and Marena Baker.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Jack, Abbey and Lorne (Chubb) Hooper and Edna Olsen.   She is deeply missed.   Services will be held Friday November 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.  Final resting place Sunset Lane Memorial Park.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County.
