Alfred Baston

Alfred A. Baston, 92 of Poulsbo, died in Bremerton on November 6, 2008.  He was born June 13, 1916 in New York City, NY to Arthur Alfred & Ellen (McGuire) Baston.  He graduated from Cornell University in NY with an Associate Degree.  He married Lorraine Muldoon on November 27, 1955 in Newport, Road Island.  She preceded him in death in 1998.  Alfred worked for 10 years as a Contract Administrator at the Naval Supply Center in Bremerton.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1962, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.   Alfred enjoyed reading and car trips.  He was a member of St. Olaf Roman Catholic Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the Fleet Reserve.  Surviving are nieces Kathy of Simsbury, CT & Barbara of Portland, OR; and close friends Mary Elizabeth & Ron Reynolds of Poulsbo and Morning Womack of Chicago, IL.   He was preceded in death by parents, brother and infant child.  Inurnment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park on November 14, 2008.  Memorial Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Suquamish on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11 a.m..  In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Vincent dePaul  c/o  St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Ave. N.E., Poulsbo, WA  98370.  Online memorial at www.rill.com .
