Alice Barth

Alice Caroline Barth died of natural causes at her residence in Port Orchard, Washington on September 18, 2001, at the age of 89. She had been born on December 7, 1911 in Tacoma, Washington to Andrew and Anna (Ostrom) Lidstrom.She graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1929. She then attended business college. In 1933 she married John Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton died in 1947. Alice remarried in 1981, Louis Barth. She worked for twenty years as a Deputy Clerk for Kitsap County Superior Court.Mrs. Barth enjoyed participating in bowling leagues, and was a great fan of the Mariners baseball team in Seattle.She is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Smith of Port Orchard; Janet Hamre of Kirkland, Washington; brother, Andrew Lidstrom of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Catherine King of Ridgecrest, California; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in 1981, and a brother, Harold Lidstrom.The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, that any memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy Street, Seattle, Washington, 98109.No services are planned. Private inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane Cemetery on Monday, 09-27-2001. Arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
