Alice Gladys Mikelsen, 94, passed away September 28, 2019 in Bremerton, WA. She was born September 26, 1925 in Moulton Texas to Frank and Mary Treo (Trca). She grew up in the South Kitsap area, attending Fragaria School and graduating from South Kitsap Union High School in 1944. She worked in Plan Files at Puget Sound Naval Yard during World War II. Alice married the love of her life, Arthur M. Mikelsen, September 5, 1944 in Port Orchard.
Alice devoted her life to family and her dedication as a homemaker was par excellence. Her love for her family was never in question and was complete. Besides her passion for her family, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, her greenhouse, and flower arranging. Alice is survived by her daughter Susan Page, and son Larry (Cindy) Mikelsen, daughter in-law Elaine Mikelsen, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Art, her parents, brother Erwin Treo, sister Evelyn Williams, son Arthur Lee Mikelsen and son-in-law Paul Page.
Alice’s family wishes to thank the staff at Harrison Hospital ER and 3 West for their assistance and support; and the staff at The Arbor memory care in Bremerton where she made her home this past year.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366 on Friday October 11 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
Donations may be made to the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s - Kitsap Peninsula through The Arbor at Bremerton.
