Alice Almeda Walmsley was born on October 26, 1925 to Henry and Lorraine Croman in Cottonwood, Idaho. She graduated from Kamiah High School in Idaho. She lived her adult life in Washington State.
Alice served her community as an E.M.T. with South Kitsap Fire Department as well as working as a Respiratory Therapist for many years. She was very proud to be a co-founder of the Rambling Eagles Camp Club as well as serving as Queen of the Loyalty Day parade. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Aux. and the Eagles Aux.
Some fond memories of her life including loading up the family station wagon with fried chicken and potato salad and heading to Point Defiance Park for picnics and camping. She also enjoyed being a part of her children’s school functions and parades.
Some of her favorite pastimes included camping, bingo, volunteering, and being anywhere near the water, including lakes, rivers, and the ocean.
She is preceded in passing by her son Darrell Bennett and daughter Linda Najera. She is survived by her three children; daughter, Sally (Bill) Hubbell, and sons, Randy (Debbie) Bennett and Mark (Christi) Bennett; as well as seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. All of whom she loved dearly.
A memorial celebration and reception will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Port Orchard Eagles. Luncheon and beverages will be provided.
