Port Orchard, WA -
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Lee Rollins, who left us on the weekend of May 5th, 2024, on his forever property in Port Orchard, WA. His departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his memory will forever be cherished.
Allen was born to Raymond and Joyce Rollins on October 16th, 1959, in Hermiston, OR. Allen was the youngest of three children. After graduating high school in 1977, Allen worked for a cable company in the Puget Sound area. In 1986, Allen purchased his forever property and dove into creating a homestead for himself and his future family. 1989 Allen met and married Renate Glad on April 8th, 1989. In October 1989, they welcomed their first daughter, Elizabeth. Not long after, they joyfully welcomed their next two daughters, Alisha, in October 1990 and their youngest, Anneliese, in February 1992.
Allen was an entrepreneur at heart; he ran a construction company for several years before joining the local 302. After years of hard work and technical training, Allen accepted an instructor position with the National Operating Engineer Union and taught a highly successful class in Ellensburg, WA.
Allen's love for his family was immeasurable. His love for the Lord only surpassed his devotion to his daughters and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind and loving nature, often described as the lovable teddy bear of the family. His deep faith in the Lord was evident in his joyful singing of hymns that filled the halls with gladness.
After 34 years of marriage, Allen and Renate divorced in 2023. Allen is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Rollins, and Mother, Joyce Rollins. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Elizabeth and Chris Denker, Alisha Raban and Shawn Dempsy, Anneliese and Tyler Larsen, and his ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his eldest sisters, DuRae Reece and her husband, Peter, and Denise Brown, as well as his aunt Gail and her husband, Ron Perry, who were all a significant part of his life.
The funeral will be held at Burns Mortuary in Hermiston, OR, with a date to be announced.
