Allen Simmons

Allen M. Simmons of Port Orchard, Washington (formerly of Union, Washington) died February 29, 2004 at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, Washington. He was 84. He was born May 6, 1919 in Bonanza, Arkansas to Robert and Clara (Maurice) Simmons. Allen was a U.S. Merchant Marine for 8 years during WWII time. He was a Stationary Steam Engineer. Allen retired in 1989. He was a charter member of the Shelton Elks; and, enjoyed fishing and traveling. Allen is survived by brothers - Theodore E. Simmons of Union, Washington, Ralph D. Simmons, of Grass Valley, California, H. Duane Simmons of Concord, California; sisters - Patricia M. McGinness of Holly Beach, Washington, Dorothy L. VanParys of Gig Harbor, Washington, Margaret H. Edmondson of Federal Way, Washington. He was preceded in death by brothers - James C. Simmons and Callan D. Simmons. Service time and location to be announced at a later date.
