Aloisius ‘Al’ S Aberle, 88, a resident of Port Orchard, died on April 3, 2011 in Gig Harbor from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born on April 28, 1922, one of thirteen children to Nicholas and Anna (Schweitzer) Aberle. He married Cecile Jalbert in Lowell, MA on February 23, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1991. He served in the United States Navy during WWII attaining the rank of Radio Technician Third Class with a special temporary assignment as a First Class Machine Gun Operator Instructor. He later worked at Hanford Nuclear Plant in the Tri-Cities as an electrician; then in general construction as an electrician. He was most proud of his 15 years an Electrical Inspector for the state of Washington. He was an active member of the Elks and the Eagles and loved traveling in his RV. He also enjoyed bowling and Rock Hounding, making jewelry out of his finds. He is survived by his wife Betty of Gig Harbor; son Kenneth Aberle (Tanya) of NV; daughters Marilyn Salter (Joel) of Lynnwood, Sharon Wong (Michael) of La Center and Joan Goodwin (Kenneth) of GA; 6 grandchildren Jennifer Scott, Chris Aberle, Zachary and Sara Beatty, Jeff and Joel Goodwin and2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Cecile Aberle and 10 brothers and 1 sister Visitation will be at St. Gabiel’s Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7th from 2:00 until the Mass starts at 3:00 with interment following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Reception at St. Gabriel’s following interment.
