Alta Luella Hollins was born in Helena, Montana to Tina Dahl Hollins and Willard Hollins on February 18, 1945, and passed away peacefully in Silverdale, Washington following a brief illness on May 19, 2024.
Alta spent her youth in Post Falls, Idaho until her mother’s death, at which time she returned to Helena to live with her sister Thea. On November 30, 1968 she married Arthur Hess. They lived in Clancy, Montana with two daughters, Tina and Anna, until they divorced in 1985. She held many different jobs including school lunchroom server, cashier, live-in housekeeper and, her favorite job, was as an usher at Safeco Field for the Seattle Mariners. Her hobbies were gardening and crafts, especially sewing. She also loved watching Mariners games.
Alta is preceded in death by her mother Tina and father Willard, her ex-husband Art as well as sisters Mae, Thea, and Betty and brothers Allan, Lester, Pete, Lee, and Mike.
She is survived by one sister Violet of Post Falls, Idaho as well as her daughters Tina of Phoenix, Arizona and Anna of Port Orchard, Washington where she had lived for several years with Anna, son in law Jeff and grandson Tristan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
