Alvin E. Metz

August 15, 1945 — April 29, 2018

Alvin E. Metz was born 72 years ago in Jamestown, North Dakota. He passed away April 29, 2018 in Port Orchard after a courageous battle with heart disease and lung cancer. He almost always had a smile on his face no matter what life brought his way. He enjoyed reading, watching the Seahawks, playing cards and other games. Al most enjoyed all forms of travel. This included driving, and taking a cruise or just going for a drive. I found him to be a giving, quiet, loving man. Al was a hard worker on any job or task. This work ethic started when he was a boy delivering milk or as a paper boy. He loved working in the Title industry for about 44 years and hardly missed a day of work. As a young adult Al wanted to see the world so he joined the Navy, saw the world and served in Vietnam. Being humble about drawing attention to himself he would take his birthday off each year.

Al is survived by his wife Janice, two stepsons Jacob and Thomas. His siblings are a sister named Margaret and a brother named Leroy. Numerous nieces, and nephews made up his family. Al was loved by all that knew him. I have never known a better man. I will always miss him dearly. But I do know he is in a better place.

Private burial service at Washington Memorial for family and celebration of life to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the America Cancer Society in his name.
