Anthony Gamboa, 85 of Port Orchard, Washington (formerly of San Diego, California) went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 14, 2007. He died of injuries sustained when he tripped on a garden hose. Raised in San Diego, Tony worked for General Dynamics in San Diego for 35 years, during which time he helped develop the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. After retiring, he and his wife, Bertha, relocated to the Puget Sound area in Washington State. He was in the Army and served with the 45th Infantry during World War II. Tony was an artist and painted in oils, built model ships from scratch, even crafting custom tools needed to build them. In his eighties, he mastered the computer and enjoyed listening to world music as well as reading foreign news. He spoke three languages. He was an amateur photographer and often shared his photos by email. But mostly, Tony loved his family, his garden and his dog. He had a wonderful sense of humor and is much loved by family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Bertha; his three daughters, Sandra Benson (Chuck), Gloria Hogg (Craig), both of Port Orchard; Mavi Nadeau (Allan) of Clinton, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Taj Franke, Nicole Falcone, Season Parenti, Benjamin Hogg, and Patrick Hogg; three great-grandchildren, Andrea Van Pelt, Maya Parenti, and Alexander Hogg; and his terrier, Beau. Burial services will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on July 19, 2007 at 12:30 pm. He will be interred with full military honors.
