Arnold William Banzhaf died of natural causes September 13, 2002 in Tacoma, Washington. He was 79.He was born October 27, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey to Jacob Arnold Banzhaf and Mary Ann (Breen) Banzhaf. Arnold graduated from Central High School in Newark, New Jersey in 1941.He married Margaret Lorraine (Hoehne) Banzhaf October 3, 1948 in Vallejo, California.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1975 - attaining rank of Senior Chief - E8 YNCS (SS) and a ribbon for 4 WWII Submarine Patrols (USS Darter). He served 33 years - retiring in 1975.Additionally, he worked in Civil Service - Trident Refit Facility (Bangor, Washington) for 12 years -retiring in 1989.His interests were in Elks, Submarine Veterans of WWII, St. Gabriel Catholic Church. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed golfing.Arnold was a member of the Catholic Church.He is survived by sons - Patrick M. Banzhaf of Federal Way, Washington and Scott A. Banzhaf of St. Marys, Georgia; daughter Cathy A. Eddinger of Tacoma, Washington; and 4 grandchildren (Michael T. Banzhaf, Matthew P. Banzhaf, Brad A. Eddinger and Breen L.
