Arthur H. Potts, 87, a former resident of Bremerton and Port Orchard, died in Stanwood, Washington on July 13th. He was born in Wallace, Idaho September 21, 1919 to Otto and Bessie (Solun) Potts. Arthur worked on the family dairy farm, "Canyon Creek Dairy" until shortly after his graduation from high school. He worked as a carpenter and later joined the United States Marines from which he retired as a Sergeant Major. He moved his family to Port Orchard and worked in the assessors' office until his second retirement as Kitsap County Deputy Assessor in 1981. He enjoyed lawn maintenance, gardening woodworking, his Adult Sunday School Class, a weekly non-denominational bible study class and was a Mason. He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite of Stanwood, and four daughters, Louanne (Michael) Jones of Anacortes, Dorothy (Randy) Frick of Spokane, Barbara (Jim) Pykonen of Arlington and Donna (Rick) Walling of Stanwood, WA. Arthur was preceded in death by his son Arthur Potts, Jr. in 2002. There will be a celebration of life for Art at the United Methodist Church of Port Orchard on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:00 am.
