Artis Jean Dodson

Artis Jean Klein Dodson, 87 of Bremerton, died December 14, 2012. She was born August 16, 1926 in Oregon City, OR to Edward T. & Charlotte L. Klein. She married Robert L. Dodson on September 1, 1945 in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Artis grew up in the logging camps in Oregon with her Father, Mother & Brother. Her first love was being a wife & mother. From 1962 to 1968, she raised birds for area feed stores including ducks, chickens, geese & turkeys. She loved the Hawaiian culture, music and dance and also taught cake decorating. Artis was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Group, Bremerton Yacht Club, and was a Master Gardener. She enjoyed square dancing and gardening – especially her orchids.

Surviving are daughters Aleta M. Skola of Poulsbo, WA, Rhenda L. (Lloyd) Stewart of Port Angeles, Karla S. (Robert) Freimuth of Port Orchard, and Watona K. (Michael) Williams of Bremerton; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
