Audrey Thompson Landon was born May 7, 1926 to Hereward and Emily Thompson in Bremerton, WA. She attended Bremerton HS class of 1944 and while there was active in Rainbow Girls and Jobs Daughters. She attended WSU, and then went to work for the Bremerton Housing Authority before her marriage to the love of her life Robert W. Landon. After Bob returned home from the war, they moved to Seattle where they raised their two children Kay and Craig and owned and operated Landon Fuel in Burien, WA. They sold the business and in retirement traveled the world via boats, trains, planes and there motor home. Bob and Audrey made trips to the San Juan Islands, wintered in their Mesa, Az. home, took many cruises and enjoyed summers at their Hood Canal home. Bob passed away in 2010 after 63 years of marriage and Audrey continued to live full time at her Hood Canal home until her passing on Feb 17, 2018. Audrey was an avid reader all her life and was very proud of starting her own book club. She loved her neighbors and book club members like family and will be dearly missed. Her care providers, Lisa, Gloria, Mimi, Regina and Allison cannot be thanked enough for the love and support they provided to Audrey.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Kay Youngberg (Rush) of Belfair, WA and her son Craig Landon (Cathy) of Renton, WA. She has 4 grand children, Erik Youngberg (Brandi), Allison Youngberg, Kelly Youngberg (Nick Johnson), Daron Youngberg (Kathy) and 4 great grand children. She is also survived by a cousin Lorna Jacobsen, a niece Kathy Hill (Mike) and a nephew Steve DuPont (Patti).
A private family burial is planned and a celebration of life will be at a later date.
