Audrey K. Stockmoe-Ewert

November 1, 1940 — May 7, 2022

Audrey K. Stockmoe-Ewert was born November 1st, 1940 in Red River Valley, ND to parents, Ruby Dahle-Stockmoe and Sidney Stockmoe. Audrey moved to the area in 1947 with her parents, 4 older brothers and 3 sisters first living in Port Orchard and then moving to Bremerton. Audrey was knick-named "Trixie" as she had a fun, prankster's personality and loved to make people laugh. Throughout her life people have always gravitated to Audrey's sparkling presence wanting to be friends with her. Audrey loved people and was an amazing storyteller. Even children loved being close to Audrey which isn't surprising as her whole world revolved around kids, her own kids and her grandbaby. Audrey worked at Booth's Drug Store in Bremerton as a teenager for up to 8 years where she met and married Merlin J. Ewert who was a sailor in the Navy (he later became Master Chief). After they married, Audrey would move all over the world from Hawaii to New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Singapore, Florida and eventually coming back home to Bremerton to stay. Audrey would eventually work at Keyport for a number of years and also obtain her Real Estate License before retiring. She would spend her days visting family members and crocheting and eventually watching her only granddaughter during the week. Audrey was always busy, on-the-go, taking trips with her kids to California and the Oregon Coast, spending time visiting her siblings and cousins, taking long drives and going to the movies with family. Audrey had a zest for life and even though she faced much adversity with medical ailments, she never complained or lost her smile. Her joy was found in making others smile and laugh. Audrey will forever be missed greatly and lovingly. Her dazzling light will always burn bright amongst the stars. We love you so much mama.
