Avanelle Cressman

Avanelle "Abbie" Cressman was born Apr. 15, 1920 in North Point, PA and died Apr. 23, 2011 in Bremerton, WA. Memorial services will be held at 9:30 a.m. April 29 at Harper Church. She was a WAC during WWII. Abbie was preceded in death by husband George in 2000, living at Long Lake since 1954. She lives on in her 3 boys: Gary, Dennis, Tom, 5 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. She is known for her sense of humor, caring attitude and never being late. She is a 50+ year member of Eastern Star and the Long Lake Community Club, 30+ year member of TOPS, Old Time Fiddlers, Fleet Reserve, Harper Church, Chuckwagon. She and George were presidents of the Olalla PTA, Eastern Little League. Both were always seen at their sons' sporting events. Abbie entertained the elderly in retirement homes around the area. She played swing piano with three of her own trios and the Old Time Fiddlers. She was a greeter at Harper Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harper Church - Hope for Kidz, a ministry of Reciprocal Ministries International for child sponsorship in Haiti.
