Barbara Coyer

Barbara Jean Coyer, 66, of Port Orchard, lost her battle with cancer on October 29, 2009.  She was surrounded by loved ones as she went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ, whom she deeply loved. Barbara was born on April 23, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois. Passionate about a life of serving others, she graduated from Saint Vincent School of Nursing in 1964.  Barbara dedicated 43 years to nursing and loved every day of it. In addition to nursing, Barbara’s passions in life were her church, family, friends, hiking, and enjoying each day to the fullest. She approached life with grace and dignity, and though her strength of body declined, her personal courage and deep faith sustained her to the end. Barbara is survived by her husband of 42 years, Donald, and their three children:  Brian, Todd, and Kara (and spouses). A viewing will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00.  Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, at St. Gabriel’s Church in Port Orchard. Please attend. In lieu of flowers and other thoughtful gestures, the family requests memorials are made to the American Cancer Society/colon cancer.
