Barbara South

Barbara Lou South, 70 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on October 31, 2008.  She was born May 4, 1938 in Lancaster, California to Bert & Elpha Richardson.  She graduated from A.V. High School in Lancaster in 1956 and married Gene South in Palmdale, California on June 15, 1956. Barbara owned Paperbacks Plus Bookstore in Port Orchard for several years and also worked for Flowers To Go.  She loved to do crafts and read books. Surviving are her husband Gene; sons Paul (Katherine) South of Tucson, Arizona and Matt South of Vashon Island, Washington; daughters Elizabeth Brown and Rebecca Spieth, both of Port Orchard; brother Eldon Richardson of Port Orchard; sister Beth Young of Temecula, California; and grandchildren Sara, Austin, Zackary, Kayla, Amelia & Dylan.  She was preceded in death by brother Alan Richardson. Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on November 6, 2008 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
