Barbara Elaine Winslow

December 3, 1935 — November 21, 2017

Barbara passed away at her home on November 21st. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barbara was born to Evie and William Blazick in Bremerton, Washington. She spent her youth living in Bremerton; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Allyn, Washington; and later in Portland, Oregon, graduating from Portland’s Grant High School in 1954. She was employed by Bell Telephone and the National Biscuit Company while living in Portland. She married Don Winslow on Dec. 17, 1960 and settled in Port Orchard, Washington.

Some of her most significant accomplishments included studying to become a paralegal and a notary public. She was a volunteer at the Retsil Veterans Home and with South Kitsap Eastern Little League and South Kitsap Peewee Football in the 1970’s. Her hobbies included doll collecting, crossword puzzles, and ceramics. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, motorhome trips, country western music, vacations in Hawaii, and the company of Boots the cat and Bonnie the dog.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Blazick;stepfather, Charles Jensen; mother, Evie Jensen; and sister, Nickie Clausing. Survivors include her husband, Don; sons, Ron Winslow of Port Orchard and Don Winslow of Shelton; daughter, Deborah Johnston of Bothell; stepdaughter, LaVonne Esperson of Arlington; brother, Doug Jensen of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; granddaughters, Samantha Perez of Richardson, Texas and Matilda Smither-Winslow of Shelton; and great-grandson, Damian Perez of Richardson. She will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in the form of donations to the Holly Ridge Center of Bremerton.
