Bea C. DeBoer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 84. Born on April 23, 1940, in Omaha, Nebraska, Bea was a source of strength and determination to everyone who knew her.
Bea attended West Bremerton High School and later the University of Washington, where she formed lasting friendships with a group she and her friends affectionately named the Lovely Ladies. These bonds remained strong throughout her life.
She met her husband, Roy J. DeBoer, at Olympic College, and they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Together, they traveled extensively, creating lasting memories, particularly in Hawaii, where they embraced the local culture. Bea also spent several weeks in China, where she developed a deep appreciation for the rich traditions and experiences.
A devoted member of her church community, Bea served as the church secretary for 32 years, becoming a reliable pillar for many. Her strong faith in Jesus guided her through life’s challenges, and she built enduring friendships within her church family.
An avid sports fan, Bea passionately supported her favorite teams: the Seattle Huskies, Seahawks, and Mariners. She enjoyed dark beer and often shared her enthusiasm for football and baseball with those around her. Bea loved to make candles, work in her garden, hiking and camping. Known for her determination, Bea was equally tenacious, proving time and again that she could win an argument with a smile!
Bea leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving family and countless friends who will remember her unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
Bea is proceeded in death by her husband Roy and her son Eric. Bea is survived by her children Nicole Miller and David DeBoer. Her grandchildren Devlan Miller, Alena Wolf, Brent Endo, Jullianna Nuss, Ericka Michel and Danicka DeBoer. Great grandchildren Louis, Anistasia, Bradley and William.
