Benjamin Bigelow

Benjamin Flagg Bigelow III, 65 of Silverdale, died at the VA Hospital in Seattle on July 25, 1999.  He was born March 21, 1934 in Bangor, Maine to Benjamin & Mary (McCarthy) Bigelow and was raised in Bangor, Arizona & Texas.  He graduated from California State University at Los Angeles and performed his graduate work at UCLA.  Benjamin married Kathleen Sherrell Drabant on November 5, 1971 in Van Nuys, California.Mr. Bigelow worked as a Deputy Probation Officer for Los Angeles County for the past 10 years.  He was a professional theater and television actor in the 1960's & 1970's.  He served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Korea earning the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.  Benjamin was also a member of the Mensa Society.Surviving are his wife; son Benjamin James Bigelow of San Diego, California; daughter LaRisa E. Newell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister Regina Bigelow of Mesa, Arizona; and grandson David Benjamin Newell of Albuquerque, New Mexico.A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at 10:00 am at Living Word Christian Center in Silverdale.  Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
