Benjamin Thore

Benjamin F. Thore, 91 of Port Orchard, Washington died on January 6, 2008. He was born June 8, 1916 in West Virginia. Benjamin married Daisy Elizabeth Plummer on June 3, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1992. Benjamin worked as an Electrician for more than 30 years with Mobil Oil, TPA Plant in Beaumont, Texas, retiring as a supervisor in 1981. He also served in the U.S. Navy from October 21, 1940 to March 26, 1947 as a Senior Chief Electrician. Benjamin was a life-long golfer with numerous wins in amateur tournaments. He was a member of IBEW Union, Northwood Christian Church, and Tyrrell Park Municipal Golf Course, all in Beaumont, Texas. Surviving are daughter Barbara Thore (William) Thaete of Port Orchard; and grandson Matt Brown (USCG) of Port Angeles Washington. Visitation 4:00 to 8:00pm on January 13, 2008 and Funeral Service at 2:00pm on January 14th, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Interment following at Magnolia Cemetery.
