Bernard E. Buschke, 71 of Port Orchard, died on February 21, 2000. He was born in Emmett, Idaho on February 1, 1928 to Henry G. & Mamie (Coulter) Buschke. He was raised in Emmett graduating from Emmett High School in 1946. Bernard married Martha Jean Martin in 1956 in Vancouver, Washington.Mr. Buschke worked for 6 years as a Machinist in Shop 38 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, retiring in 1983. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 until his retirement in 1976, earning the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.Surviving are his wife Martha; sons Harold Buschke of Portland, Oregon and Ronnie Buschke of Colorado; stepsons William & Harold Landon of Portland, Oregon and Charles & Michael Landon of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters Jenny Kirk of Portland, Oregon and Becky Buschke of Montana; stepdaughter Lori Schiro of Portland, Oregon; brother David Buschke of Emmett, Idaho; 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Wednesday, February 23rd from Noon to 5PM and Thursday, February 24th from 9am to Noon. Graveside Service will be on Thursday, February 24, 2000 at 2:00PM at Fraola Cemetery in Port Orchard.
