Bernardo T. Tabafunda, 93, of Port Orchard, Washington, died July 3, 2001, in Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center in Port Orchard. He was born November 6, 1907, in the Philippine Islands to Pantaleon and Adora (Tarapi) Tabafunda. He was educated in the Philippines.On February 17, 1962, he married Corazon (Florendo) Tabafunda.Bernardo worked as a foreman at a fish cannery in Alaska for 30 years and then spent time as a private residential gardener in Kitsap County retiring in 1989. He served as the Grand Master of the Acacia Lodge #57 of Bremerton, Washington, and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Bernardo is survived by his wife, Corazon, of Port Orchard; son, Edgar Tabafunda, of Port Orchard; daughter, Nora Tabafunda, of Port Orchard; brother, Bonifacio Tabafunda, of the Philippine Islands; sister, Petra Tabafunda, of the Philippine Islands; and 1 granddaughter, Nikki Tabafunda, of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolina Tabafunda.Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2001, 9AM to 7PM, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard with a Rosary following at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be 10AM, Saturday, July 7, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with interment following at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
