Betty Jean Drescher, 74, of Port Orchard died Tuesday at her home surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness. She was born in Spiro, OK to Lawrence and Nellie Crook on May 28, 1933. On November 26, 1949 she married Dallas L. Drescher in Yucaipa, California and spent the next 20 years as a Navy wife settling in Port Orchard in 1974. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years before opening a daycare in her home. She enjoyed crafts, watching the Mariners, her many trips to Hawaii and she was an exceptional cook. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved Margaritas. She is survived by her husband, her children Rick Drescher, Barbara (Dale) Hrenko and Kimberly Drescher. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Aschlee Drescher, Dallas Drescher, Kyra, Bryanna and Elyse Drescher, and Brandi Hamilton. Her extended family included her ex son-in-law James Wickham who was like a son to her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who is deeply loved and will be missed greatly. As per her request there will be no services. A family gathering was held on Sunday to celebrater her life.
