Betty Ellwein age 80 of Port Orchard Washington got her wings and went to be with the Lord Jesus her savior on January 4, 2021. She was born in Bismark North Dakota on July 12, 1940 to Edward and Mary Werre and one of eight children. She moved to Port Orchard, WA in 1976 with her husband Leland and her two children, Sam and Joy.
She was a mother and homemaker who was loving and quick to laugh. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends. Not only did she pour all her love and kindness to her own children, but also to the children in the surrounding neighborhoods and her church South Park Assembly of God. She lived her life ministering and sharing the Love of God by driving many children to church, teaching Sunday school, and being a leader in Royal Rangers. Children and adults alike were drawn to her kind spirit and loving demeanor. Betty enjoyed reading her bible and devotionals, and writing in her journal. She also enjoyed cooking and baking traditional German dishes passed down by her family. She was a wonderful mother that will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her children Sam Ellwein and Joy Wilson. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Marvin Werre, Dennis Werre, and Mavis Glur.
