Betty Jo Granquist
October 16, 1926 — October 7, 2018
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Known as “Jo” to all her family and friends, she passed away (in her sleep) October 7, 2018, after an extended illness of Alzheimer’s.
Jo was born in Emmett, Idaho on October 16, 1926 to Jessie Marion Stanley and Elodie Electa Stanley. Jo spent her childhood years in Emmett, Id then moved with her parents to Port Orchard, Washington where she graduated from South Kitsap High School. She met her husband Lloyd Granquist while at SKHS. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Wanner and son-in-law John Wanner of Hillsboro, OR; son, Dick Granquist and daughter-in-law Jill Granquist of Port Orchard, WA; daughter, Kristina Cawker and son-in-law Gordon Cawker of Nighthawk, WA; nine (9) grandchildren, and nine (9) great grandchildren.
Jo can be remembered by the many years entertaining family and friends at their Hoods Canal home and her years of involvement in various bridge clubs and local golf clubs.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 24, 2018 at Alderbrook Resort & Spa 1:00 - 3:00 pm. 7101 East State route 106, Union, WA 98592
A special thanks to the Legacy Hospice Services and her Cooper Mountain Care Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society.
