Betty Harris

Betty A. "Betts" Harris, Age: 67, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died of cancer on February 5, 2002, at her residence."Betts" was born on October 23, 1934 in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania to John and Wilda(Hollis)Harris. She graduated in 1952 from Palmer High School in Palmer, Alaska.She was a Homemaker, loved her family and was well known for her hospitality. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Port Orchard.Survivors include a son, James Scott of Port Orchard; three daughters, Lana Combs and Glenda Scott, both of Port Orchard, and Wendy White of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Donald Harris; three sisters, Marilyn Ehmann of Colorado, Donna Magnussen of Vermont and Wilda Boggs of Alaska; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard. Pastor Kevin E. Lea will officiate.The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, Post Office Box 2382, Bremerton, Washington 98310.
