Betty Louise Huber was born April 3, 1935 in Maysville, Mo. to Eldon and Laura Mae Edwards. She passed away Sunday morning October 29, 2017 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington.
Betty graduated from Maysville High School in 1953. After high school she moved to Kansas City and worked for Hallmark Cards and Business Men’s Assurance. Betty married Clayton Huber on March 20, 1960, they were happily married for 57 years. They had three children: Rodney, Diane and Curtis. After their first child was born she became a stay at home mom. Betty moved with her family to Port Orchard, Washington in 1969 where she lived until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diane, brother George, and sisters Lois, Marge and Carolyn. Betty is survived by her husband Clayton; sons Rodney (Robin) and Curtis (Lisa); brothers Robert (Reita), John, and Harvey (Janice); and her grandchildren Samantha, Kaitlyn (Jay), Brent (Niquee), Stephanie, Kyle (Madison), Taylor, Lizzy, and Ava. She is expecting her first great-grandchild in December. Betty enjoyed her daily walks and spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with friends Virgil and Donna Wood. She also enjoyed camping with her family and reading. Betty and Clayton enjoyed square dancing for over 30 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard for about 48 years. She enjoyed serving in the church and was in a lady’s circle for a number of years. Betty also volunteered at Helpline, the local food bank. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 12 years ago. Betty will be greatly missed by her family.
