Betty Laber

Betty J. Laber,69, died at her home in Port Orchard, Washington on January 3, 2001. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Heaton, North Dakota to Michael and Grace (Janish) Seil. Betty attended Sykeston High School in Sykeston, North Dakota. She married Morris P. Laber on January 20, 1948 in Sykeston. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2000.Mrs. Laber worked for 13 years as a Postmaster at the South Colby Grocery, retiring in 1978. She enjoyed the outdoors.Surviving are son Keith Laber of Boring, Oregon; daughters Rikki DeBlois of Seabeck, Washington, and Melody Wall of Bremerton, Washington; brother Vic Seil of North Dakota; sisters Margaret Wilson of Iowa, Mary Speed of Minnesota, Ann Grant of Minnesota, and Joan Kahl of North Dakota; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister Catherine, brothers Frank, Johnny & Harold.Memorial Sevice will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Saturday, January 13, 2001 at 11:00am.
