Betty Meeker

Betty Jean Meeker. 80, died at home in Port Orchard on November 13, 2011.  She was born January 17, 1931 in Moberly, MO to Joseph & Cora (Elliott) Bowden.  She married Elmer Dale Meeker in 1952 in Yuma, AZ and he preceded her in death January 28, 2011.   Betty and her husband were owners of Meeker’s Trading Post – a mom & pop grocery which is now known as Olalla Foods.  She loved to cook and was a member of South Colby Methodist Church. Survivors include son Brian Dale Meeker of Port Orchard; daughter Cynthia Jean (Daniel) Staples; brother William (Carolyn) Bowden of CA; sister Mary Drllevich of Olalla; grandchildren Jason, Anthony, Jennifer & Robert; great-grandchildren Allison, Aaron, Audrey & Robert. No services are currently planned.  Arrangements by Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
