October 20, 1922 — July 6, 2003

Betty Ann Murray, 80, received her angel's wings on Sunday, July 6, 2003, when she joined her heavenly father. She passed away at Ridgemont Terrace Nursing Home in Port Orchard, Washington, and her family feels great sorrow at the passing of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Betty was born on October 20, 1922 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and graduated from high school in 1940. She married Billy W. Murray on November 11, 1942 and were together for 53 years prior to his death in 1995.She was an executive secretary with the Fresno Unified School District for 28 years working at Sequoia Junior High and Fort Miller Middle School. She loved working with children and received an award fro the For Miller PTA for all of her service. She was also a member of the Fresno Ottimists Club for several years volunteering to assist with their weekly bingo games.The daughter of the late Amelia Amundson and Clarence Clingman, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Michael Skaug of Olalla, Washington and Bonita and Tom McGonagill of Morro Bay, California; grandchildren Beau Skaug of Olalla, Washington and Aubrey & Paul Ross of Port Orchard, Washington; and great-grandchild, Mackenzie Ross. She enjoyed her many friends and relatives of the McGonagill family while she lived in Morro Bay.Funeral service will be held in the Whitehurst Chapel (1525 E. Saginaw, Fresno, California) on Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Fresno Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the Whitehurst Chapel on Friday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.Remembrances may be made to your local chapter of Hospice.
